Which method for which lesion
Two spots or bumps can look alike and still need different treatment. The final method is decided by the doctor at your consultation.
| Lesion | Main method | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Raised mole | Main methodMCL31 Erbium:YAG laser | NotesThe depth of removal is set by the mole's size and how deep it goes. |
| Flat mole / small blemish | Main methodMCL31 Erbium:YAG laser; widespread pigment may suit pigment treatment | NotesWhether a pigment laser (such as PicoSure) fits is decided at the consultation. |
| Flat warts (flat or raised) | Main methodMCL31 Erbium:YAG laser | NotesThey can appear again or come back, so many lesions may be treated in stages. |
| Syringoma (small bumps under or around the eyes) | Main methodAgnes (insulated microneedle) | NotesThe cause is sweat-duct tissue inside the skin, so the source tissue is treated rather than only the surface. Treated over several sessions spaced apart. |
| Sebaceous hyperplasia (yellowish bumps on nose or cheeks) | Main methodAgnes (insulated microneedle) | NotesOnly the enlarged oil-gland tissue is targeted. Often cleared in 1–2 sessions. |
| Depressed scars / enlarged pores | Main methodPore and scar treatment | NotesIndented texture is not a raised bump; it is covered on our pore and scar page. |
Frequently Asked Questions
At ReYeonK Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, the doctor first examines the mole; raised moles, flat moles, flat warts and small blemishes are removed with the MCL31 Erbium:YAG laser. Book through WhatsApp or another consultation channel, and after the examination we explain the method and the cost. The clinic is a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Apgujeong Rodeo Station.
It depends on how deep the mole is, and no clinic can promise that there will be no scar. Deeper moles are more likely to leave a slight dent or a colour change, so the doctor sets the depth carefully and may treat a deep mole in stages. Leaving the scab alone and protecting the area from the sun are important for healing. (Results vary between individuals.)
We use the MCL31 Erbium:YAG laser. It removes skin precisely in thin layers, which suits raised moles, flat moles, flat warts and small blemishes. Widespread flat pigment may respond better to a pigment laser such as PicoSure; this is decided at the consultation.
Several small skin-coloured or yellowish bumps under the eyes or on the eyelids are often syringoma. It is a benign growth of sweat-duct tissue inside the skin, so shaving only the surface tends to let it come back. ReYeonK Clinic uses Agnes, which places an insulated microneedle into each lesion and destroys only the tissue causing it. The diagnosis is confirmed at the consultation.
(Results vary between individuals.) Syringoma usually needs several sessions spaced over time rather than a single treatment.
Small yellowish bumps with a tiny central dip on the nose, cheeks or forehead may be sebaceous hyperplasia — enlarged oil glands. Agnes is used to target only the enlarged gland tissue. They can recur, so we follow your progress. It is often cleared in 1–2 sessions. (Results vary by individual.)
Yes. Flat warts on the forehead and face are removed one by one with the MCL31 Erbium:YAG laser. Because they are caused by a virus, new ones can appear or old ones can return, so many warts may be treated in stages with follow-up.
It depends on size, depth and number of lesions and is explained at your consultation. A scab forms where the lesion was removed and falls off on its own — do not pick it, follow the recovery care and protect the area from the sun. Results vary between individuals.
Small, shallow moles may clear in one session, and sebaceous hyperplasia is often cleared in 1–2 sessions. Syringoma and deep moles are treated over several sessions spaced apart. The exact number is explained at your consultation after the doctor examines the lesion. (Results vary by individual.)
A mole that suddenly grows, is asymmetrical, has mixed colours or bleeds needs a medical check before removal. The doctor examines it and, if needed, recommends further testing first.
Leave the scab until it falls off by itself, apply the recovery ointment you are given, and use sunscreen carefully when you go out. Sun exposure during healing can leave the area darker (post-inflammatory pigmentation).
Depressed scars and enlarged pores are not raised bumps and are treated differently. They are covered on our pore and scar treatment page.
It depends on the type, size and number of lesions, so the cost is explained after the consultation.
