How often should square-jaw Botox be repeated?

Dr. Lee Doochan ·

Doctor's answer

The doctor explains that jaw Botox works because a muscle that is not used shrinks, so the muscle gets smaller during the roughly three months the Botox is active. Talk of it 'wearing off in a month' applies to wrinkle (expression) Botox, not the jaw. Re-injecting as each three months ends and repeating about three times gives the greatest reduction, after which one injection about every six months is recommended to maintain the size.
