How to Choose an Aesthetic Clinic in Apgujeong
What to check, not the signage

Apgujeong has so many dermatology and plastic surgery clinics clustered together that "which one is good?" is oddly hard to answer. Here are five things worth checking directly — things advertising alone won't tell you.
1. How many years has it operated at the same address
Some clinics change their signage often. When the name or location changes, the treatment history and know-how built up over the years often disappears with it. Staying in one place for a long time means patients have kept coming back without incident. Track record is information advertising can't manufacture.
2. Aesthetic judgment, hand skill, and enough time with the doctor who actually performs the procedure
With the same equipment and the same procedure, the result still comes down to the hands of the person performing it. How naturally an eye shape is set, how a contour is kept from looking overdone — these come from a person's judgment and experience, not the device specs.
At quite a few clinics, the treatment plan is decided in a consultation with a coordinator rather than the doctor, and the doctor only steps into the treatment room briefly before stepping back out. To me, the time spent consulting thoroughly with a patient and deciding on a treatment based on that information is the most important part of the process.
3. What happens if a side effect occurs
Every procedure carries some possibility of a side effect, which varies by individual. What matters isn't a claim that denies that possibility — it's who looks after you, and when, if something does happen. Check whether the director personally handles aftercare, and whether there's a hospital they work with for emergencies.
4. Whether the equipment and consumables are genuine
Devices like Thermage or Ultherapy have a set cost per consumable (tip) used. Genuine consumables have a real cost — if a price comes in noticeably below that cost, it's worth questioning. No clinic makes money out of thin air; a price that low usually means something was cut somewhere, usually the consumable itself or the shot count.
5. Whether the clinic relies on rotating, non-resident doctors
Some clinics have a different doctor on duty depending on the day or time slot. In many cases, you may never see the doctor who treated you today ever again. That can mean the doctor who consulted with you isn't the one who actually performs the procedure, or that no one remembers your history on a return visit. Simply ask at booking: "Can I see the same director each time?" — the answer tells you immediately.
In short
These five apply no matter which clinic you choose. ReYeonK has been at the same spot in Apgujeong Rodeo for 10 years, with a resident director who handles consultation and treatment personally, start to finish.
Indications, effects, and outcomes vary between individuals. Please make any treatment decision only after an in-person consultation with a medical professional.
