Considering Fat Dissolving Injections Before Summer Vacation? Here's What to Know

As summer vacation season approaches, interest in fat dissolving injections (Sunsak injections) is surging. More people want to improve their facial contours and body lines quickly, but there are important things to know before committing to the procedure.
Fat dissolving injections work by directly injecting substances that break down and dissolve fat cells to address localized fat deposits. On the face, they can target cheek fat, double chin, and nasolabial fold area fat. On the body, they can be used on the abdomen, arms, thighs, and underarm fat (副乳/副乳腺).
The first thing to verify before treatment is ingredient safety. Some products contain steroids, which can cause skin atrophy and vascular dilation with prolonged use. PPC (phosphatidylcholine) can trigger inflammatory reactions and persistent swelling. Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that dissolves fillers, which can be problematic for those who have had filler treatments. Therefore, choosing a clinic that uses formulas free of steroids, PPC, and hyaluronidase is critical.
Treatment intervals are equally important. Fat dissolving injections rarely achieve the desired effect with just one session—multiple sessions are typically needed. For facial areas, a minimum 2-week interval must be maintained; for body areas, intervals of 3 weeks or more are the safe standard. To see sufficient results before summer vacation, it is advisable to start treatments at least 2-3 months in advance.
One area that becomes particularly concerning in summer is axillary breast tissue (副乳). Fat accumulation near the inner arms and armpits becomes more visible when wearing swimwear or sleeveless tops. Combining fat dissolving injections targeting this area with arm fat injections helps create a slimmer overall arm contour.
Post-procedure care matters too. Bruising and swelling in the treated area are common immediately after. Intense exercise, saunas, and alcohol should be avoided for 1-2 days. Strongly massaging or pressing the treated area can affect drug distribution and should be avoided.
Fat dissolving injections are best suited for improving localized contours rather than overall weight loss. Setting realistic expectations and combining treatment with diet and exercise yields the best results. A thorough consultation with a physician before the procedure is essential to create a personalized treatment plan.
